Common University Entrance Test (CUET) Under Graduate (UG) Exam is a Computer Based Test for admission in UG courses, including BBA and BMS courses, offered by all Central Universities, State, Private and Deemed Universities. 1. What is CUET UG Exam?

Common University Entrance Test (CUET) Under Graduate (UG) Exam is a Computer Based Test for admission in UG courses, including BBA and BMS courses, offered by all Central Universities, State, Private and Deemed Universities. CUET serves as the gateway to top universities in which CUET scores are accepted for admission, including Delhi University (DU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Jamia Milia Islamia, and others. 

There is no separate CUET UG BBA exam. CUET UG exam scores will be used for BBA/BMS admissions in Delhi University colleges like Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (SSCBS), Keshav Mahavidyalay and others. 

2. What are the changes in CUET UG 2025?

UGC has introduced many changes from CUET UG 2025, as below:

  • CUET UG will be conducted solely in CBT (Computer-Based Test) mode.
  • Students are permitted to take CUET UG exams in any subject, irrespective of their class 12th subjects.
  • The number of subjects for CUET has been reduced from 63 to 37, with Entrepreneurship, Teaching Aptitude, and Legal Studies among the removed subjects.
  • Each CUET subject exam will have a uniform duration of 60 minutes.
  • Admissions for discontinued subjects will be based on General Aptitude Test scores.

4. CUET UG 2025 Exam Pattern

CUET UG 2025 exam pattern consists of three sections: Language, Domain Subjects, and General Aptitude. CUET UG Exam Pattern 2025 and CUET UG Question Types is given below.

5. CUET UG Marking Scheme 2025

The total marks of the CUET exam is 250 marks. CUET UG Marking Scheme 2025 is given below.

  • Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Five marks (+5)
  • Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).
  • Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0).
  • If more than one option is found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
  • If all options are found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
  • If none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped, then all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will be given five marks (+5) marks.

6. CUET Exam Pattern 2025: Section Wise Details

CUET 2025 exam pattern for each of the three section is given below. 

Section 1- Languages
The languages offered under Section I of CUET 2025 are Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi, and Urdu.

Section 2- Domain-Specific Subjects
Candidates, while choosing the domain-specific subjects, can choose the CUET subjects irrespective of subjects studied in class 12th. Candidates are advised to check the brochure of the University to choose the domain-specific subjects. As per CUET exam pattern 2025, domain-specific subjects are as follows:

Section 3- General Aptitude Test
CUET UG General Aptitude Test is an optional section that the candidate can choose as per the requirement of the participating CUET university. This section can be opted by candidates for discontinued subjects, Vocational/Open Eligibility/Cross Stream/any other as applicable UG courses.

7. CUET UG Syllabus 2025

NTA has released CUET UG syllabus 2025 on the official website: https://cuet.nta.nic.in/syllabus/#. CUET UG syllabus varies from subject to subject. Hence, candidates must prepare according to the subjects opted by them. CUET UG Syllabus 2025 for a few subjects is published below. 

CUET UG Syllabus 2025 - English Language 

Questions from the Language Section will be from the following topics but are not limited to: 
1. Reading Comprehension: There will be three types of passages (maximum 300 words): i. Factual ii. Narrative iii. Literary

CUET UG Syllabus 2025 - Accountancy/ Book Keeping

Unit I: Accounting for Partnership

  • Nature of Partnership Firm: Partnership deed (meaning, importance).
  • Final Accounts of Partnership: Fixed v/s Fluctuating capital,
  • Division of profit among partners, Profit and Loss Appropriation account.

Unit II: Reconstitution of Partnership

  • Changes in profit sharing ratio among the existing partners – Sacrificing ratio and Gaining ratio.
  • Accounting for Revaluation of Assets and Liabilities and Distribution of reserves and accumulated profits.
  • Goodwill: Nature, Factors affecting and Methods of valuation: Average profit, Super profit, Multiplier and Capitalisation methods.
  • Admission of a Partner: Effect of admission of partner, Change in profit sharing ratio, accounting treatment for goodwill, Revaluation of assets and liabilities, Reserves (accumulated profits) andadjustment of capitals.
  • Retirement/Death of a Partner: Change in profit sharing ratio, accounting treatment of goodwill, revaluation of assets and liabilities, Adjustment of accumulated profits (Reserves). 

Unit III: Dissolution of Partnership Firm

  • Meaning, Settlement of accounts: Preparation of realisation account and related accounts (excluding piecemeal distribution, sale to a company and insolvency of a Partner)

Unit IV: Company Accounts: Accounting for Share and Debenture

  • Share Capital: Meaning, Nature and Types
  • Accounting for Share Capital: Issue and Allotment of Equity and Preference Shares; Over subscription and under subscription; Issue at par, premium and at discount; Calls in advance, Callsin arrears, Issue of shares for consideration other than cash.
  • Forfeiture of Shares: Accounting treatment, Re-issue of forfeited shares.
  • Presentation of shares and Debentures Capital in company’s balance sheet.
  • Issue of Debenture – At par, premium and discount; Issue of debentures for consideration other than cash. 

Unit V: Analysis of Financial Statements

  • Financial Statements of a Company: Preparation of simple financial statements of a company in the prescribed form with major headings only.
  • Financial Analysis: Meaning, Significance and Purpose, Limitations.
  • Tools for Financial Analysis: Comparative statements, Common size statements.
  • Accounting Ratios: Meaning and Objectives and types: Liquidity Ratio, Solvency Ratio, Activity Ratio, Profitability Ratio
  • Cash Flow Statement: Meaning and Objectives, Preparation, Adjustments related to depreciation, dividend and tax, sale, and purchase of non-current assets (as per revised standard issued by ICAI).

  • Concept and Types of Computerised Accounting System (CAS),
